Family Participation
We believe every family brings something valuable to our community, and we draw inspiration from the diverse perspectives and cultural backgrounds that shape our school. As a cooperative program, we’re always evolving and adapting to meet the needs of our families. We welcome your ideas and suggestions for how we can grow and improve together.
While many opportunities to participate are optional, there are a few key responsibilities that are required in order to remain enrolled at Benson Hill Co‑op.
The success of our school depends on all of us working together and pitching in. To help our preschool run smoothly and stay financially healthy, co‑op members agree to the following responsibilities:
-
Be on time for class and work in the classroom one day each week.
-
Arrange a substitute when you can’t make your scheduled day (you can trade with another caregiver).
-
Provide a healthy snack for the class on a rotating basis.
-
Help tidy up and get the classroom ready for the next group.
-
Serve as a class officer, committee member, board member, or other school roles.
Not sure what job might be a good fit? Take a look at our Job Descriptions page to explore your options and choose your assignment in the spring. -
Attend Parent Education classes and all‑school events so we can learn and grow together.
-
Stay up to date on tuition. Tuition is due by the 5th of each month; payments received after the 20th include a $15 late fee.
-
Contribute $120 per year toward fundraising.
Throughout the year, there are plenty of fun ways to join in on events that raise money for our school, and those efforts can even help lower your fundraising fee. To learn more, visit our Fundraising page.
