Parent Education Purpose
Our Parent Education program provides families valuable information on child development and parenting techniques. It also strengthens families and communities and is an important focus of our co-op philosophy. Parent Ed meetings are a time when parents can share concerns and experiences and provide a supportive environment for one another. Our teachers facilitate this valuable component of our program and are also available for informal and private consultation with parents to help families with specific concerns. Occasionally, our teachers will review our classroom policies and expectations at these meetings to help ensure our school runs safely and effectively. Please visit our Calendar for these important dates.
Parent Education Meetings
We are happy to share with our families that we will be offering teacher led seminars throughout the year. These seminars will be scheduled several evenings throughout the school year and allow parents to have an opportunity to engage in discussion and ask questions specific to their child's development. Our teachers have some exciting concepts to share that will open many learning opportunities at home with your child, ranging from process art to behavioral guidance.
Other topics that may also be addressed at parent meetings include potty training, eating habits, and sibling dynamics. Additional parent education support is available during class with informal discussion time.
Two times throughout the year, parents are asked to attend these important teacher meetings to review classroom policies and safety guidelines. This helps our classes run smoothly and ensures are parents are properly trained to work with other children in the classroom.
